Cool park, ok siri you can stop writing this review now thanks. Hey clown! Get on your own side of the road. Jeez, these melenials just aren't cut out to drive on the same streets as me, a middle aged conservative. Vote Gavin Colby 2020

This park has 2 playgrounds--a big one for older kids and a little one for toddlers. When my kids got too hot to play, they enjoyed the little free library at the park.

It's pretty basic compared to some other park's I've been in in large cities. But there's a nice wood chip covered play ground for kids that includes swings, slides, poles to slide down, etc. There is plenty of space to run and play sports. There is also a gazebo that is used for music presentations and other things. There are picnic tables next to the gazebo that people frequently use for birthday parties or to sit and read. There is also a picnic table next to the Creeper Trail before the bridge that crosses Holston River. One part that is not easily seen and almost never used is a small picnic area next to the War Memorial that's across the street from the library. To get there, you have to walk through the War Memorial, toward the park. The picnic area is in a lower wooded part between the park's walking trail and the river. I actually just recently discovered it as I was walking around the War Memorial. The picnic table is old so you would probably want a table cloth to cover it.

What a beautiful park. Always wanted to go there ever since I started reading about the Appalachian Trail.

Nice little park, connects with Va Creeper Trail. Lots of good vendor tents during Trail Days. Don't miss going to Sundog Outfitters for bike shuttle to White Top Mtn. Chris Butcher, GM at Sundog is an outstanding individual. He & staff will take good care of you!
